The hard drives they are using in those devices are refurbished Seagate drives.. I have a hard time trusting a refurb hard drive.
Spock... I find your comment most illogical as this dock doesn't have any drives... how do I know? I'm looking at the one right in front of me now.

And a 4 thumbs ups on incorrect info??? Fascinating.

I assure you, my comment was most logical. What I find illogical is that you did not read a full post before making a comment.

I'm afraird OWC is correct. I've had this issue with multiple Macs and docs. Very hard to pin where the exact problem is. Sometimes I wondered if using HDMI 2.0 in stead of Displayport would fix the problem. Also, MacOS 14.4 seems to have added to this problem.
It is interesting that the number of problems that could be assigned to the dock that could actually be the computer's issue. I will be using mine (when I get it) with thunderbolt only (into the monitor), so hopefully, that works fine.

Its a good dock, especially at its new price.
Only thing I don't like about these docks is they pass power to the host device, ie my MacBook. Great for those who take their systems away and plug in when at their desk, but my system is permanently on my desk anyways, and I don't want to keep it plugged into power all the time......

I have a couple of the OWC TB4 11 port docks and they have been rock solid. It drives one 32 inch 144mhz display and one 32 inch 60mhz display, at 4k or 1080p, both work well.
Assuming two Studio Displays still won't work though?

that's what happens when you hog the stock with bad logistics. i waited 2 months for "notify when in stock" at full price, then i got a similar one from sonnet. now they can't sell off the stock.

Also pay attention that with the current price of 99$ you get to pay shipping and you have to pay taxes to get it imported to Europe in my case. this means that you buy the dock for 99 USD + Shipping totals in 157 usd + Customs 181 USD in total. Which does not make it so beneficial anymore

For me, it was an extra $17 for tax and delivery. Still a bargain if it does what I need. I guess I will find out soon.

I received mine today. Does exactly what I want. I got this for a couple reasons. I want a device that can handle an SD card and two SSDs with iPad. This gives me the ability to do multiple backups of photos using my iPad on the road. I also wanted it to work with a Dragonfly DAC and it will play from that, as well.

Secondarily, I wanted to have this in my office setup for quickly attaching my iPad to my thunderbolt display. It works for that, too. I haven't tested it with my MBP or Alienware computer, but I expect those will attach to it via thunderbolt and also to my display with thunderbolt, as well. For me, it was easily worth the $99. Still messing around with it. I will probably find a couple additional uses for those additional ports.

Only complaint is the heavy power supply, but I was aware of that when I bought it.
