clement pitched some stellar games for the red sox this year... pretty lousy to be jumping off his bandwagon so quickly.

Sox fans aren't really on a bandwagon -- it's much more of a love-hate deal. And I do like Graffanino (though right now I most certainly think he's a "worthless crap bastard" -- GET DOWN ON THAT GROUND BALL AGH!). But man, we wanted Pavano, not Clement. Not that that would've worked out either.

You know who Clement has reminded me of since July 1st? Pat Raap. But without a changeup.

When St. Louis falls in love with a player, it's usually for life. They've been nuts over Edmonds, and rightly so.

Meh. Wait'll Edmonds drops a fly ball at precisely the wrong time. Maybe in game 6 of the world series in the tenth inning just when it looked like you had everything wrapped up and things are begining to slip away because Bob Stanley is losing the strike zone and wild pitching every tying run home possible ...

Sox fans really loved Buckner up until, you know. Then they pretty much tried to lynch him. Which was, of course ... unfortunate.

Man. Wasn't winning a world series sposed to fix all this? Why does it still feel so ... personal?

I've always wanted to meet the president of Red Sox Nation and kick him in the shin. :p Wang pitched a good game for the Yankees last night he just ran out of gas plus those few defensive errors didn't help, But for his first post season start id say he did pretty well.

That's why you're a Yankee fan, I think it has to do with a lack of class. Sure, we picked up alot of fans last year, but when comparing the whole fan base of the Sox to the total fan base of the Yankees, you'll find that most Yankee's fans don't know anything about the game, except for the number 26 and previously, the number 1918.

Boston is a baseball town, New York is just a town with a good baseball team.

ahahah sadly i have to agree somewhat with it

I have come across a lot of Yankee fans and honestly the majority of them didn't know a blessed thing about baseball. It was really sad

Like who was the last person to hit 400
Who was the last triple Crown winner
Who was the last pitcher to have more wins than walks in a season

Basic Questions

tough loss last night for the yanks. Some one remind me to shoot that damn rally monkey, and any fan with Thunder Stix. Oh well, The LAAOA should have an up hill battle in nyc, facing The Big Unit, and Chacon.

*yawn*

Looks like the Cards are going to take it to the Padres again today. 4-0 heading into the 5th. :D

the braves looked good tonight. would like to see them beat houston. a cards/braves series would be fun.

i think boston will have a hard time coming back. the team batting average isnt as good as last year, the pitching isnt as good as last year, and they're playing a superior white sox team.

but who knows, thats why they have to play the games... :D

Except they still led the majors in it this year with .290. Well, here's hoping Wake can pull off another 12 S.O. performance. Dance ball dance!

Also, as I watched the first game of that series, I was impressed at how much class the White Sox fans have. A little refreshing after Game 6's crap last year.

To be a fan yes i believe you have to be Remotely knowledgeable on the subject or you really can't know anything about the sport or any of the teams.

And for the answers to my questions

Ted Williams
Carl Yastrzemski
Brett Saberhagen

So, to be a fan of a rock group, you have to know all the lyrics to every song they ever wrote, every concert they played and every interview they've given? If so, there would be very few fans of anything.

I know how the game works, and I know the players names. I just don't know every statistic about every Yankee game ever played. I'm still a fan.

I am not asking to know EVERYTHING just something be knowledgeable about the sport and the players to an extent.

I just think it be better to know something about what you are a fan of.

Your a fan of Macs and find out new information and know a lot about them, so why not do the same for baseball?

This is not an attack on you personally MontyZ its just something that has bothered me for a little bit about things in general
