Darn thing didn’t read the horticulture book and flowered early.
That's OK, the ones around here they typically show up the first week in June, so it all averages out.

Thanks to you now I know the name of this flower. I have one in my garden and didn't know what it was, now I do 🙂
I thought of you yesterday when we were in Georgetown (DC) and I was looking for interesting viewpoints but M street didn't have quite this ornate of architecture. I found a few things, but not as many as I'd have liked.
But I'm excited to see what you find for texture this week.
What I really learned this week: Don’t shoot with two themes in mind. It won’t work out.
It’s not that I don’t like the photos per se (they’re quite okay, I‘d say, nothing special either), it’s more that they don’t really represent either details or texture and are very interchangeable. Also, this is not a bad thing at all, I’m just not very happy with my results.
Nethertheless, I’ll keep the themes in mind and might come back to them later.
