I have an ipad air, @ ios 9.3.5 and cannot install Pages from itunes.

I also noticed that you cannot open an editable text file in Notes from messenger, you have to copy and paste the entire document in a new note, which is idiotic and cumbersome.

That apple has not come out with a decent desktop in like 6 years, and their software quality is garbage and getting worse under the idiot Cook, I am as close as I've ever been to getting rid of all of my apple products (5 iphones, 3 ipads, 3 computers) and severing ties with apple entirely, replacing them all with pcs/androids, etc. I'd even unload a six-figure apple stock account as well, I'm that angry with them.

I think their direction under Cook has been a nightmare for the consumer/end-user, and am going to start looking at alternatives.

What fault message are you getting when trying to download the app? Maybe upgrade your system to a later version of iOS? Pages works on my iPad Air which is on iOS 10.3. I wouldn't expect everything to work flawlessly on a 4 year old iPad though, but that's just me... it has had its glory days.

Concerning the notes/messenger problem, I find it curious how you need to open a text document in the notes application? You've already solved it yourself by marking everything and pasting it in the notes app. That's a good workaround that takes literally 4 clicks to do. I don't see why it's the end of the world?

As frustrated as you might be, I'd like to know how your window machines work in harmony with android. Let us know when you make the switch.
Spoiler alert, it doesn't work at all without connecting wires between them. I've really tried to turn away from Apple simply because it's expensive to be an Apple fan. However I've learned that it is money well spent as Apple products save me from a lot of headaches.

Good luck with that Pc/android combination though. I might work for you.

Exactly why I use apple devices for personal usage and android for business usage.

I have an Air, and I was was running an older Os than you until recently. I can say, iOS 10.3 is running well on it, and solved the majority of my crash issues. I probably won't take it to 11 until I hear it does ok (and I don't think it will do great on it), but I would recommend you go to 10 before 11 drops and you are stuck.

If I'm reading your comment correctly, it sounds like you are trying to install pages from your Mac through iTunes. My guess would be that you have a newer version of the app in iTunes than is supported on your iPad. If you install the app directly from the App Store on the iPad, it will allow you to download the most recent version of the app that will work on your iPad, even if that was an older version of the app.

One question. What's stopping you?

Why not just do it rather than come on the internet and throw a tantrum in front of a group of strangers?

Why add an unintelligent post to a thread that achieves nothing but make you sound like an apple lackey?

Nothing, just bought two pcs and an two androids. The transition is now underway. Even sold my apple stock.

I've had no issues getting my Windows and Android systems communicating well... there are many others as well.

I currently prefer Apple products, but should the time come to leave them, I'd have no problem making the switch.

That's funny because I routinely transfer files between PC and Android with a file manager over WIFI without wires. It's my iPads that usually require wires and lack basics like file manager.

The last several days I've been doing a lot of work with attached storage with my Galaxy Tab S2 tablet - reviewing RAW camera files on SD cards with a card reader (without copying to device), streaming video from small uSD card reader, copying files back and forth using folder structures (using uSD, SD, and HDD), etc. All seamless and very fast. This was in an area with no WiFi or cell coverage - no Internet availability. Wish it were all so easy on my Air 2.

I didn't understand the wires comment, either.

What? Are you serious? You decided that your emotional issues with Apple are good reason to "dump" APPL stock? I hope you used actual financial sense and not just irrational dislike when selling the stock...

Lol. I'm going to assume you've been holding a position in APPL for some time then. Sell away! No regrets....

I wouldn't touch the Pages app for all the money in the world! Stick to word if you don't plan on upgrading to 10.5 or above... unless you have a subscription

We will put you down as a maybe for the iPhone 8:p

LOL, don't hold your breath. ;)

Sorry for degrading what was a brilliant post.
Not sure how it made me sound like an Apple lackey considering I gave no opinion on them.
My post was only centred on you.

Of course it was centred on me because you lack the expertise to answer a tech question with facts or knowledge. Given your attitude, it isn't surprising you prefer to cover that inability with bluster and nonsense. Par for the course for the apple fanboy chorus and True Believers.
