My sis just finished painting my MacBook Pro (LapZilla)

I love her artwork - we are Sufi Muslims and the artwork showcases a famous Sufi poem that talks about being a butterfly that aspires to fly to the highest sky - in particular, the poem says that whatever sky you're flying in right now, realize that there are 10 skies above it that you should further aspire to fly to

Lastly, the poem also says that whatever you put out, either the sun will make it bloom (like the flowers) or die (like the withering thickets on the laptop), but what matters is that you keep flying to the highest sky

Anyways - enjoy!

The markers used were the SMASH KO from ArtPrimo.com

No offense but that looks like a five year old scribbled on it for about 3 minutes.

Why do you even say no offense when you already know your statement will cause offense. If you really meant no offense to the poster then you would have kept your mouth shut in both of his post.

Whatever dude.

To each his own, I wouldn't be caught dead pulling that machine out of that bag though.

If something is posted, it's up for critique, not everyone who doesn't like it should have to "keep their mouth shut".

I hate to point this out but when you have the laptop open, the artwork will be upside down. D:

OP--upon closer inspection, that appears to have been done with black permanent marker and not paint?

Before this turns into an ugly thread I'd like to point out that it all comes down to cultural differences. The contrast between the East and the West becomes obvious.

Call it what you want, but there are plenty of rude comments, yours certainly included.

Since when are rude comments considered trolling?

OP posted something under the guise of art, people critiqued it, some good some bad, as they generally do with art.

I do think it looks bad. If the OP likes it that's cool, I have no issues with that. The meaning of the message is nice I suppose, but I wouldn't be expecting sunshine and rainbows if I posted a picture of my $2k machine with sharpie pine tree stick figures on it. I still think it looks like something a young child did (and maybe it was).

I can't say its my style but i appreciate it. I like the fact that your not afraid to do that to your machine because it adds sentimental value to you

I would do this in a heartbeat if i had something nice to put on because im not interested in selling the laptops i buy new. I run them to the ground then give them to grandpa :p

Nice job :)

So, what were you adding to this thread by claiming, a few times now, that it "looks like a 5 year old drew it"? I must have missed the actual critique part where you offered up some improvement suggestions.

Someone, who cares how old they are, made the artwork on the lid of this laptop, and the OP seems to genuinely appreciate it and wanted to show it. Instead of just bashing it and then getting defensive, maybe offer up some of your divine artistic wisdom so they can improve. You seem to think this "5 year old" could use it.
