Any effects on RAM or battery?

I didn't experience any noticeable battery life, and I use Battery Widget Reborn 24/7. No excessive RAM usage, phone still works perfectly smooth.

Just download it and try it, you can get a refund if it's not what you want. I like it.

Is "3D Image Live Wallpaper" the way to go or is there a better app?
Don't listen to that one guy, very apple fan boyish, probably has a crappy android 2009 device, if you have a good device it should be good, just check out some reviews on YouTube I have and it seems really good. It would be where apple got the idea. :) I have been meaning to buy it but other things to purchase keep appearing. (I have been meaning to buy it for months!)

PS Unless Google has changed it you will have 15 minutes to try it out after DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL, so if you are quick and don't like it, unistall it and go to the gp app and page and click refund :)

And you clearly have no idea what you are talking about to post such moronic comment.

I have an HTC One.

The effect of the paralax is minimal at best and it doesnt give a true sense of depth as what you would expect it to be.

How is that Apple fan boyish ?

So you haven;t even bought it and yet you assume the person who did buy and it and didn't think it was very good has less valid opinion than you, someone who has only seen it in a youtube video.

Sorry that's just plain ridiculous.

Which is what I actually told him to do in my post :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

That's because it's not made by Apple and you dismiss anything not made by Apple. It's pretty clear in your post history for anyone to see.

You guys have no idea what you're talking about. I never noticed MacRumorUser until I started visiting the alternatives section and now I think he's one of the most valuable members in this section. He's not a fanboy of any sort.

There are lots of iRobots here (at least it's an Apple forum ;)), but it really makes me wonder, why some guys here think that MRU is an Apple fanboy.
I read a lot of his posts, and to me he seems not biased at all.

Okay, my mistake, I have just seen some great reviews of this app, and don't understand why it would not work for him :) Again, my bad.

I installed it on my Nexus 4. MRU is correct, nothing like iOS 7 on my iPad.

Oh, so he doesn't like a 3rd party app in the play store and he is an Apple fanboy? yeah that makes a whole lot of sense.

in the taint
Saw a new app pop up in my weekly search for new apps and this app seemed like it was made for this thread.

App is called, 3D Parallax Background. Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vinwap.parallaxwallpaper

No idea if it is really good, but the video in the app link looked pretty darn good. The parallax thing isn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure others like it. More options the better, I figure.

I downloaded the app but when I try and use my own wallpaper, it would hang uploading it and crash. Had to uninstall it but I emailed the dev. to address the issue.

Yeah, I release that, I was wrong.

Apple has won this, they took something (that wasn't trademarked, which is good), and improved it. That is smart, but I do think many people would think it is cool, be obsessed, use it as a party trick, and dismiss it, just like Siri, 99% of users I talk to say that same thing (they are iOS users). And that is what I would use the 3rd Play Store Parallax app for, that was my intention when I got it, but now I shall not.

Perhaps a photosphere live wallpaper will be half decent?

http://www.xda-developers.com/android/bring-your-home-screen-to-life-with-photosphere-hd-lwp/

Ever since the launch of 4.2 Jelly Bean, Android users have been enjoying Photo Sphere functionality. However, aside from a few online communities in which these souped up panoramas can be viewed, there aren’t too many practical applications for these more immersive exposures.
Thankfully, there is now a new use for all of those Photo Spheres you’ve amassed over the last year, and that’s right on your home screen. XDA Senior Member exisapps shares with us an app he created called Photosphere HD Live Wallpaper. And as you can imagine, it does precisely what its name implies: It displays your Photo Spheres on your home screen.

Not tried it myself but it could be a good alternative to the parallax LWP.

Very frigging good idea! Never thought of that! But Apple would sue Google... actually, they wouldn't. They don't go after Google only their partners, they sued Samsung OVER GOOGLE NOW! Samsung doesn't own Google Now, sue Google! *tsk tsk* Well, I can ramble!
