The RX580 is not 2.5 slot card but it's also not a 2 slot card either...sort of 2.2...just too wide to block Slot 2 slightly if installed in Slot 1.
So in my case, putting it into Slot 2 and my Lycom DT-130 card into Slot 1 still gives Slot 3 and 4 free.

Hey There, Its all good, I would have love not to spend extra to get a riser. I had originally put GPU in Slot 2 and my Raid Card in Slot 1. I just couldn't fit my usb 3.0 card in slot 4. If I had been able to, the Fan would just spun and make contact with it. I was debating not to get the riser and put my raid card in slot 3 , but I would have lost so much speed because of being only pcie x4. thank you everyone on this thread for replying. much appreciate. this guided me in the right direction to get my Mac running at maximum speed.

The thread is about a RX6950xt or 6900xt or 6800xt if installed in slot 2 they cover slots 3 and 4. if installed in slot 1 as slot 1 and 2 has a bigger gap between you lose slot 2 and keep slot 3 and 4 but both are just 4X slots though. with riser in slot 2 and sat on top of slot 3 you get 2 x 16X slots 1 and 2 but can still use slot 4 for USB 3.1 USBc card.

Even a RX580 in slot 2 blocks slot 3 and so close to slot 4 if you can install a card it blocks the Fan cooling on RX580.

If you put in slot 2 (single slot) 2.2 slot card 3 and 4 slots are gone by the same logic
