I purchased PDF Expert and installed it on my iPod Touch.

I managed to set up some things, one thing doesn't seem to work yet.

I wonder if anyone could help.

I can connect to the PDF Expert DOCUMENTS folder on my iPod Touch from my computer. I can copy a file onto it and then manage to email that file as an attachment from my iPod Touch.

I am also able to forward email attachment to my ReaddleMailIn address, and they show up in my readdle storage (online)

What doesn't seem to work is connecting the iPod Touch to the Readdle storage.

In settings I repeatedly have entered my login ID and Password, checking either "Save" or "Done" after entering the Password.

The app checks the ID/PW and switches back to the setting page.

The only items I can see in the "Document" folder in PDF Expert are the files I copied from my computer to the iPod.

Where do I find the forwarded attachment files that show up in my Readdle storage on my iPod?

Am I missing something?

OK. I found it. There's a cute little R symbol on the Wi-Fi Access panel. When you click on that it takes you to the Readdle storage folder.

I don't think I saw anything about this in the documentation ....

Do embedded links in PDFs work in this application?

Example...

Clicking a chapter number on the table of contents page takes you to the first page of the chapter.

What features does this application have that are not in Good Reader?

If PDF Expert & ReaddleDocs Pro will cost the same, then what would be the difference between the two??? Is one better then the other

Readdledocs + PDF expert costs the same as Readdledocs Pro it seems.

Readdledocs + PDF expert have the same functions as Readdledocs Pro.

The advantage I see is one less app taking up space. I'm running out of app slots on my iPhone.

ReaddleDocs Pro (or 2.0) = ReaddleDocs with completely reworked design and usability + all PDF Expert functions + "Classics" style book reader + some other tasty features that will be announced later.

In case you do not require advanced PDF reading abilities right now, you may consider waiting for ReaddleDocs 2.0 upgrade that will be available this fall.

I'm not sure about embedded links within the doc body but I have one PDF with a ToC and clicking on topics there jumps me to the relevant page within the document. It works very well. Another reason I'm glad I have this. Oh, and the fact that emailing out a document works very well too (as does emailing an attachment to the depository for d/l into PDF Expert).

And one more thing, (sorry, the more I use this the more I like it), double tapping text zooms in (and back out). Not something I've come across in pdf viewers before. Makes it easier to read and navigate around big documents.

Let's collect real advantages

I have to admit I'm not up on every feature of every PDF reader, but PDF Expert appears to have some features I've not seen elsewhere:

1) Navigate via built-in chapters/bookmarks -- the stuff you see in the "sidebar" in a desktop reader.

2) Navigate via internal links -- like an earlier poster mentioned, clicking on a line in the Table of Contents takes you directly to that page.

3) [Not sure about this one] Clicking on a live URL in the document opens Safari to that page.

It would be great to see a list of features unique to PDF Expert -- I'm sure there are plenty more, since so many PDF apps use the built-in reader.

I've just bought it. I need something to fill up my 32gb so I might as well have it full of useful PDF files.

I never had Readdle so this being new rather than an update to that does not concern me.

£2.99 is a fair price if it works :)

Not impressed

Well I literally just downloaded this app and have been using it for 15 minutes.

My impressions:

Crashes regularly- particularly when trying to launch/ sync large pdf files of around 10MB.
Scrolling within text is very jerky.
I am unable to open protected pdf files. I can open the same files on any desktop machine and within QuickOffice without entering a password. This makes the whole app unusable for me. I only bought it so that I could sync my college files across.

To be perfectly honest, I would like a refund if I can't open protected files.

EDIT: I am in contact with the developer who appears to be pro-active to my problems. Hopefully these can be resolved!

support for PDF Expert?

I'd like to report a couple of bugs -- send a couple of PDFs that always cause the app to crash ... but can't find the Support link on their web site. Any ideas?

I've just bought this one.
Works great.

I have few suggestions.
I'll contact dev soon.

The developers of this app are unbelievable, they create fake users to give good ratings to their own applications, if you check on PDF Expert, there is a "user" called Ani G. and she has left 5 stars reviews to all their own apps, and there is another fake user just like that one. You guys deserve to be remove from the App Store!!!

And if you also check the fake user "Ani G" left a review on the mobileMe iDisk applicaion from Apple saying "that they bought a loaded version of iDisk called OneDisk, that is better and more powerful" and guess who are the developers of OneDisk, the same as PDF Expert.
You guys are cheaters:mad:

Can PDF expert do this?

I have a pdf document that is approx 75mb (4500pages). It is actually 5 "books" compiled into 1 pdf document. I need a viewer that supports this file size and I also need the app to support links.

For example, there is a chart in the pdf that links to other areas of the doc. Lets say the chart was like a periodic table; if you click on an element (oxygen, carbon, hydrogen,..) the link takes you to the applicable section of the pdf that discusses the element. Also, there are links in the texts that jump to other references within the pdf

I have goodreader, which opens the large pdf fine, but the links don't show up/work.

Does PDF expert have this function?

The current version of PDF Expert doesn't support work with links inside the document. At the moment we're working on it and in the future such scenario will be real. Would you like to send us your document so we can test it.
(via drop.io) and write to team@support.readdle.com

Thanks.

The pdf is proprietary for work, so I am unable to send it :(

Agreed. It looks like Readdle has several people with iTunes accounts set up specifically to give 5-star ratings to all the Readdle apps. That's fraud and should be reported to apple.

BUYER BEWARE! Any developer that needs to add fake reviews for their products apparently has little confidence in the ratings the app will receive from legitimate purchasers. I'd keep that in mind when looking at any Readdle app from now on.
If anyone is looking for a pdf reader with legitimate good reviews, check out Good Reader. It's on sale for 99 cents. I bought it when it was $4.99 and it was worth every penny. An honest developer who doesn't pad the ratings.
