so, you looked at the 'under the hood' changes, the code... and determined this? 🤔

If you look from a developer perspective then every yearly update is a major update, including point updates. If you look from a user perspective then some updates are minor and no rush to upgrade.

In Monterey’s case and from user perspective, out of about 20 apps and a couple of drivers I have I didn’t encounter anything broken yet. That’s the first time in a very long time this happened. Usually a new macOS has had so many changes that these same apps and drivers break and need to be updated.

so, is that how it works? the 'user perspective' vs the 'developer perspective'? i'd say that's your personal take on it, and that's fine. but perhaps it's new in the same ways for everyone, and not defined by your personal opinion about what a 'major' and a 'minor' update is.

this, too... is just my personal opinion.

anyway, am enjoying the new OS, as much for not getting in my way as anything else, and have gotten comfortable with new safari..
