In the average college class on the average day what percentage of laptop computers (that students bring to class) are Macs?

50% - out of a class of 92, 3 bring in macs (1 iBook, 1 MBP and my PB) and 3 bring in pc laptops (but I never bothered finding out what they are :) )

I voted 100%. In my Uni classroom (there are no classrooms at the college I lived in, College is where you live whilst you attend University) for Chemistry I had a laptop and another guy had a laptop. Mine was a 12" iBook, his was a 14" iBook.

i'm a GC major, so in most of my classes the number of macs is closer to 80-90%. (YES! :D) heh.

but i voted wrong cause i read too fast and didn't see we were asking that question, rather than "how many laptops in a college classroom"... :(

My entire school is 100% Mac(altho they may have some PCs in the animation department)

But everyone is required to purchase an Apple Laptop(Macbook Pro), its put right on your tuition bill. The older students have Powerbooks that they purchased... a few people skated by and got a waiver and got Macbooks.

Still at school but in the whole school, only 2 people have them. My brother, a 1.5GHz PB and my mate who has a 1.2GHz ibook but i will be joining it soon with my own blackbook.

I got to DeVry (yay) and there are absolutely 0 Macs there. The only Mac guy I know is the guy who works at the bookstore (he was wearing a Panic shirt :p). So this fall I will use my MacBook with pride :D

At my college, not many people use laptops. In fact, over the last few years, I have seen no one bring a laptop to class (with the exception of my broadcasting class, where one guy brought a Gateway, another brought a Powerbook, and occassionally, I'd bring my iBook). So, in that case, 66.67%. Occassionally, I'll see a laptop in the coffee shop, and an Apple laptop shows up there about a third of the time.

At my university, very few students bring laptops to any class. Lectures sometimes see a couple laptops, but it's a rare thing.

There are only two guys that carry a laptop with them at our high school (me and this other guy). I have a MacBook, he has some sort of a big and ugly Acer. So I guess you could say 50%...

At days when people from our class bring computers, around 60% are macs, due to much higher protability and battery life.

4 MacBooks.
1 15" PB.
1 12" iB.
1 14" iB.
Only a few Medion/Dell/Acers are brought.:D

Though only around 10% of all the people in my grade have Macs. (7 out of 76).:(

In mostly classes of 15-25, there are about 3 students that take their laptops to class. Everyone mainly has pc computers in the dorms, but those who take their laptops to class mainly are the mac users.

I said 40%, but my graduate classes are around 8-14 people.

The 250 person intro class I TA for is almost all thinkpads, but chapel hill strongly suggests thinkpads to the incoming students, so it is an unfair comparison.

That's a little depressing :-(

Look in th art buildings....all of the emo art majors will have them.

I saw one today! It was black. I tried to refrain from staring too much.

One girl in my Political Science class has a MBP, and I've seen a few 12"/14"iBooks and 12"/15" PB's. Mostly though, it's lots and lots of Dells and HP's.

my alma mater was separated by department (design school). architecture, industrial design, and landscape design (i think) got PC, everyone else got mac. but within each program its 100% either or.
