An interesting part will be watching the numbers as the younger people get older.

The rich and college educated people are going to be heavily weight at the iPhone.

My read of that is iPhone is going to start dropping as those 18-24 year olds start getting older and richer. Also means more of them will have college degrees so it going to change the balance by quite a bit.

They will of course change there preference to iPhone as they get older and smarter.

----------

I know some fairly well off people with Samsungs. It's all a matter personal preference really.

I'll bet that's a large sample.;)

----------

The survey is somewhat skewed. It compares the product of one manufacturer with the products of many manufacturers.

How about a poll about how many Americans on government welfare programs who own a smartphone and their average monthly bill?

Now that would be an interesting poll about how the poor spend their money.

How about a poll of people with a government phone...what a joke that is.

What is so interesting about elderly folks ( most of the recipients of gov't phones that I have come across) having a gov't phone? They have worked their you know what off and a little assistance to help them out goes along way, believe it or not some people still want/own a flip phone that dials out and receives a call that's it

Clearly not what I was getting at. I work with, for lack of a better word, "criminals" on a daily basis and most have them. That is where most are going.

Let's remember that Social Security isn't welfare or assistance. It is money earned and saved throughout a persons life. It's their money that is due to them. Some people see elderly people on SS as on welfare. Not so, just like a wealthy person's money accumulated (through work and smarts) through out their lives deserve that money.

Here's my take on it.

Like many of you I've gone to college _earned_ my degree, and work in my industry of choice.

I use both an iPhone 5 & Galaxy S4 concurrently.

There is no perfect smartphone, yet having choices allows me to enjoy both platforms.

As to the survey? I don't give a flip. I have good friends of all ethnicities & income levels. We use what we like, and are are too busy having fun, than argue or obsess over choosing a "winner"

At the end of the day it's just a phone :D

True for the most part. Not to get too political since this is a phone message board. But things like disability benefits are skyrocketing the past 15 years as Bill Clinton and the Republicans ended welfare benefits back in 1996.

People found they can extend "welfare" by declaring disability to keep the cash cow going indefinitely since disability is essentially a lifetime payment with full benefits. And most people do not pay FULLY into the social security system who claim disability.
