Reminder to those trying to find a direct relationship between Chitika ad views and sales:
- This is not about sales quantity.
- This is not about how much a phone is used (someone who uses lots of apps would not see the ads).
- This is not even about how much a phone surfs the web, since most sites do not use Chitika, plus browser reloads will skew the results.
It is only about the relative number of Chitika ad views. This is Chitika marketing itself.
The GS5 sold 20% fewer units in the first three months than the GS4 did.
The extra rumored missing 20% was supposed over-production that a reporter claims to have heard from a "person familiar with the matter." (Since he didn't say "insider", the person was probably some analyst.) Another click bait article, like most these days.
Sales always slow down when the market is mature and people are happy with their older model. Heck, look at the drop in iPad sales. The same is happening with high end smartphones.
I'm actually excited by these slowdowns for Samsung and Apple. It means that it'll take extra innovations to draw more sales in the future. That'll likely mean foldable phones from Samsung (which they've announced should be out in 2015) and perhaps a UI better related to tablets from Apple et al.
