i'm having this problem today too. went to 'reset network settings' since my wifi stopped working all of a sudden. now keeps rebooting.

This exact same problem happened to me a few days back for the exact same reason "reset network settings"...

Tried to go to DFU mode but did not work for some time...

Finally switched off my macbook and restarted and then again tried to go to DFU mode and it worked! Had to restore and re-install all my JB extensions.

been about 4-5 hours. still reboot cycle. can't get it into DFU mode or anything.

Try this.

With your phone not plugged in to your computer and on the Apple logo screen, push and hold the home and power buttons simultaneously and *watch South Park. Took something like two minutes before my phone went into recovery mode.

*Pretty sure this part is optional. It sure helped pass the time though.

That's hilarious!

unfortunately, that didn't work. ended up just getting it replaced.

I don't know, but now I'm getting seriously peeved.
re-jailbroke using quickpwn, everything was fine. went into cydia, system froze, so i decided to restart. guess what happened?
now it's in the reboot mode indefinitely. before it would reboot, blank screen, reboot, blank screen, etc. Now it's stuck on the reboot logo. even worse, this time i didn't make a custom firmware so it's the MF pineapple logo! no way i can take it back into an apple store now.
WTF?! i've been jailbreaking for over 2 years and have never had any problems like this. now all of a sudden, two phones in a row!!

Wow. Apple couldn't even break the cycle??

Wonder what's causing this.

You can't get it into DFU mode?

You may have to just let it run the battery down and then try.

@mdwsta4

Are these new 3GS phones ? With the new bootrom that requires the tethered jailbreak.

PS: It is killing me to post on a lostprophet thread but I hate to see you struggle so.

yes, these were both 3GS phones. the first one was when they were first released and had the old bootrom. The new one, unfortunately, i don't know the answer to that.

I don't avoid either of your threads. Perhaps I can act as a middleman. :)

Ooh... Good idea.

Tell lizard I hate his face.

Anyway, to stay on topic it looks like Rock may be the source of this problem. I didn't install it this time because I really never used it before and my phone has been fine. There's another thread that just popped up with a couple people having the same issue after updating Rock. I had also updated Rock the day this happened to me.

This is precisely why I avoid your threads.

Please, explain further.

Is it perhaps because I'm not a stuck up prude and like to have fun along with learning and contributing here? Or because I don't take offense when some random nobody on a forum doesn't like my threads?
