Isn't that rule for the Photo of the Day - March 2021 - MacRumors thread? I ask that in all seriousness.

Here is what was posted in the first post of this thread:

The guidelines post for this subform only mentions a one post per day limit for the Photo of the Day threads.

Also, I don't mind someone calling me out if I have violated a rule, guideline, or informal social contract. But I am not the only person to have posted more than 1 photo per day in this thread - instead of calling out only one person, please make a general request. I don't think that is too much too ask.

If I have missed something, though, please point to other rules I have missed so I don't break any rules due to ignorance in my part. Thanks! 👍

[Edit: Added link to subform guidelines and requested that I not be singled out for behavior that more people than just I have participated in]
It's all good. Hugh was just having some fun with you. We all share our photos and a sense of humor.

My deepest apologies. I am so sorry, I thought I was still in the Photo of the Day thread :(

Carry on as you were ;)

Cheers :)

Thanks, I did not think I missed something like that, but wanted to make sure.

Having said that, I have been an enthusiastic participant in this thread, it has been a lot of fun. However, if people think I am posting too frequently, please let me know (in this thread is fine) and I will cut back.

Actually, I suspect that what happened to Hugh is something which has happened to me, too -- and that is, getting confused and forgetting which thread I was in. I was cruising along through these and thought, "gee, why are all the photos of similar subjects?" -- momentarily having a brain fart and thinking I was in the POTD thread!

ETA: ah, I see I should've read through the rest of the thread prior to posting! Yep, exactly what I thought..... It's easy to get confused when we've got several different active photo threads in process!

Fair enough @Hughmac - and in all fairness, I think I was a little sensitive after I broke the rule/guideline about only uploading your own work. 👍

Besides, I do not want to annoy a macrumors Demi-god...

If I recall the last image, this one should work. FujiXP90 from 2020.

Still sorry I made such an embarrassing mistake :(

By the way, a demi-god is nothing special, just someone who pays a fee to support the site, appear more important and get access to hidden parts of the forum. Contributor would be a better title, as some have chosen ;)

Cheers :)

Tona Toraja land, Sulawesi, Indonesia, 1990 ...

Tona Toraja Sulawesi 1990.jpg

Absolutely fascinating culture, they build "villages" to celebrate the death, I happened to come across this place as I was touring around ... take a look at the link below.

From Wikipedia:
In Toraja society, the funeral ritual is the most elaborate and expensive event. The richer and more powerful the individual, the more expensive is the funeral. In the aluk religion, only nobles have the right to have an extensive death feast.[26] The death feast of a nobleman is usually attended by thousands and lasts for several days. A ceremonial site, called rante, is usually prepared in a large, grassy field where shelters for audiences, rice barns, and other ceremonial funeral structures are specially made by the deceased's family. Flute music, funeral chants, songs and poems, and crying and wailing are traditional Toraja expressions of grief with the exceptions of funerals for young children, and poor, low-status adults
