Don't worry about it. We are here to have fun and learn. The rules are there to protect that purpose and to keep the forum from becoming a free-for-all, but we are a friendly and flexible group. We've all made rules errors.
The one place you do have to be careful is the "no likes" rule in the Weekly Challenge. @mollyc and I can attest that the group is ruthless about that one.

The "no likes" rule?
For the Weekly Challenge Contest there is a rule that no one can "like" or comment on an image until after the judging. There is some concern that those things might influence the judge's thinking. Several of us inadvertently break that rule from time to time. @mollyc and I get reprimanded unfairly, overly harshly, and mercilessly when we break it while others just get a gentle reminder. We really don't mind. We are mature people with extremely broad shoulders.

But had you not, then what would you have done for the "4 primates" picture? Then you only would have had @deep diver , @oblomow and @stillcrazyman and also-fricking-lutely no one for the fourth primate.yea, we did ... and sometimes, well, sometimes, we are not so sure anymore
You would have been like "Holy crap, who can I choose as the 4th one? Why didn't I speak when they booted Captain Trips? He would have been perfect!"
