You may have noticed the photo used in the MacRumors Mac OS X Leopard Support Issues and Cool Features article.

That was at the Beverly Center Apple Store in Los Angeles, at the Leopard rollout. My pet leopard Leopold took a Photo Booth shot of himself, using the Bulge effect. He was viewing that image when I snapped the newsphoto.

I'm having fun with the colored pencil effect...I guess I don't like looking at the camera though lol.

How did you get your background to come out so nicely?

Try using a very well lit background. (as well as the subject itself) The simpler the background the better the effect. Obviously, try to not wear colors resembling those in the background.
