the flowers look like violets, but the leaves don't seem right (at least here - there's a lot of blur). the leaves should be heart shaped for violets.

Marksburg Castle, above the town of Braubach, Germany, is the only hilltop castle along the Rhine which has never been destroyed, with most buildings dating back to the 13th to 15th century.
.. some new, and old growth - a view of nature's renewal and recycling -- some spring greens, blossoming trees, and decaying tree trunks and their microhabitats -- captured in one of the forested areas of Cameron Park, BC, during an early-morning walk this week.
