Wherever I hang my hat...
Nice capture Doylem. I like the wash of light coming down across the front of the frame onto the first turbine - get that one to a stock service. Wind / renewable energy folks would love that shot.

Thanks for the comments about my wind turbine shot (and, yes, Fuzzy14, these are the ones you see from the motorway near Tebay). It was just a 'grabbed' shot, when the sun came out for a few seconds... a good enough reason to have the camera in the car even when the weather looks unpromising. Round here it can change very quickly...

My Doylem you're up early! I really enjoyed that windmill shot too... it had the feeling of a tilt-shift image without the narrow focus.

This pic is of my recent trip to the Greek Islands... it's my picture of the day though I took it almost 2 months ago.
(Click for larger pic ... it's a screen cap as I didn't want to upload the entire 3MB image)

I'm considering Photoshopping that wire out on the top left... it's not too distracting but once I focus on it, it's hard to ignore.

Macro Experiment

Since it's still July here in Memphis, TN, I'm going to post this to July AND to August.

The sunflowers are blooming at a local farm. This is an experiment that I had read about and figured I would try it out today. I was using my wife's backup D80 and her 50/1.8. I actually held the lens backwards up to the camera setting the aperture and focus manually. Sure does make for some nice macro work, it just is hard to focus with the wind moving things and making sure no light comes into the sensor.

Comments are welcome.

You beat me to it Doylem this month :)

Taken just outside the city walls of my town in Italy. These old men love to watch the world go by, especially any ladies ;)

The walls date back from 400 BC, when the town was a hub for Etruscan markets. I bet 'watchers' have been sitting there ever since...

I wish the leash wasnt in the photo, CC please, I am new at this.

I like the way you've got down, for a rabbit's-eye-view (always a good idea with pets... and kids). But, apart from that, there's no feeling of capturing your pet looking its best; the rabbit looks pretty comatose. :)

Maybe get some eye-contact. Wave a carrot at him (her?)...

Great down to earth view of the Rabbit. BTW, I love the "sky hook". :D

Not sure if you're into the whole Photoshop editing of photos, but consider a shot with the lease coming out of the clouds. ('god' unleashes the giant rabbit) The lease could easily be removed from the photo using PS, there is some good background to work with. I've done this with my dog where I removed the leash and the photo shows him "running freely".

Here's a fun one for today. My friend and I were trying to get creative (ie. bored) with an SB-800 in a dark basement and came up with this...

Now starting to play about with my new A200. Here's my boy, 7 months and trying to crawl. I think he wants to eat that monster rabbit!

My first photo of the month :D
I need an album cover for my Facebook album "Nikon D80" so I took this.

Cept I only have the camera for a week... Then it's going to be a while before I get my own dSLR ><', currently using a Nikon D80 but going to aim for my own Canon XTi.

These little critters are about 1cm (1/2 inch) wide/long - well they're pretty small and difficult to photo in the wild as they pause in one place for a very short time. Some of them are blue on the inside but move around more often so my shots are not quite so good. Oh well might as well include a blue one.
