A common flyer around here, but they never seem to hold still long enough to capture in a photo. I got a lucky break :)

Yeah, those yellow ones never seem to slow down.

Love it. Shame about that bus stop!
Ha ha, it's not a bus stop, it's a street light but I managed to clone the top out. It seemed too difficult for me to get rid of the rest though as I made a complete mess of it and had to settle for what had been achieved.

Cheers :)

That sounds like my technique! My PS skills are poor.

So after my two minutes of playing with natural light, I decided it was time to get back into my comfort zone. :D

It's always good to stick with what your good at. I just need to find what I'm good at!

I am very bad at doing any sort of retouching -- just not my thing at all! I much prefer just going out and shooting the pictures, I really don't like messing with them afterward in the computer. I still miss the days when one shot rolls of film, then dropped them off at the lab, later went back and looked over the contact sheets and circled the ones of most interest for printing, etc., etc.......

Portrait Shooting was never my thing and I like to capture a more natural pose than when a person knows their pictures is going to be taken. Especially true with my father other than being hard of hearing is doing pretty good for his age (91 years old). He did pose for the camera, but all the pictures looked well like posed. Granted this isn't the best picture I have taken, but it's pretty good considering my father gets a "antsy". (That's putting it nicely :D)

Screech Owl from a local park.

There is a zoo page I follow (the zoo isn’t near me unfortunately) that had baby screech owls this summer. Now I really want a baby screech owl! So cute. Great photo.

You could use content aware to get out most of the sign, then copy and flip the bit of window that would need to be reconstructed. Shouldn’t be too hard.

It never sounds hard or looks hard on the tutorials! My experience has been somewhat different!

Thanks! I only have Elements 15 now since my old CS4 started complaining in High Sierra, but you've just shown me a new method of cloning rubbish out of a photo :)

A quick and dirty edit of a .jpg from my Flickr and it looks much better already. I will go back to the original and redo it properly (and also get rid of the bin) when time allows.

Fantastic texture and lighting - another wildlife cracker from you.

What a beauty.

Gorgeous. ( is it seeing cross eyed from the drugs it had? Can't imagine how else you can take such a stunning photo)

Thank you all...much appreciated. :)

Funny that you mentioned baby screech owls Molly. There were babies. However, this shot was taken of an adult after many hours waiting for the babies to leave the nest in a hole in one of the trees. I was happy to get a clear shot of the adult in sunset light but shortly after I headed out of town for a couple weeks, the young left the nest. Friends of mine have awesome clear shots of them on branches and on the ground.

Of course, they're now gone. :(

Better! You'll have to teach me!

I don't have my POTD today yet since it's my husband's birthday and my photo will be of him blowing out candles on his cake, so in the meantime, I thought I'd share an old photo where I did a ton of flipping and cloning because I didn't like the left side of the frame the way it originally was. It was okay IRL, but did not match my vision so much when I saw it on camera. :) This was all manually done, before the days of content aware. I get an odd satisfaction of being able to fix things in post like this. Just a screen shot, so the sharpening might be wonky (or non existent).
