39.4°C (103°F) is really terrible! Had a look at the Durkee Fire in media. 115 Kms (72 Miles) not that far, so hope where you live is safe. The sunset from my deck last night through the smoke from the Durkee, Oregon fire in rural eastern Oregon. Once the largest fire in the country, the Durkee Fire, started on July 17 by lightning, is at 293,390 acres and 51% containment. Unfortunately, the temperatures have risen again with today's high at 103 degrees which will make gaining ground on this fire difficult. I live 72 miles from Durkee.

Thank you, @chmania . At one point, when the fire was out of control, my daughter (who lives next door to me) had a bag packed and told me I needed one too, but I believe now that we are safe and clear from being evacuated. I do try to stay inside as the smoke is really awful to breathe.39.4°C (103°F) is really terrible! (The last time, I used Fahrenheit was in 1972.)
I've never been in a fire or smog, so it's hard for me to imagine what it's like. Wish you luck!At one point, when the fire was out of control, my daughter (who lives next door to me) had a bag packed and told me I needed one too, but I believe now that we are safe and clear from being evacuated. First solo is a great achievement. It’s a flight he will always remember. Well done young manJust got back from the local municipal airport. We went to watch our grandson take his solo flight. More of a "snapshot" vs quality photo, but we've been through a lot with this kid, and we're so proud of how he's turned his life around. He's on the left and his instructor is on the right.

I live in western Missouri, and the weather patterns will occasionally bring in smoke from western wildfires, be it the western US or Canada. I can tell we have them drifting in now, because most of the day has a "golden hour" look to it. Around here, landowners will also do prescribed burns on pastures, so we'll get that smoke in the late winter too. My allergies aren't a huge fan, and even staying inside only contains so much of it. What's really crazy is occasionally weather patterns from the east will bring particulates from the Sahara desert too, and gulf moisture likes to come in from the south (along with hurricane remnants sometimes), so we kinda catch everyone's drifts.Thank you, @chmania .
