It's a slide scan from 1980. A buddy and I were attempting one of the first alpine-style ascents of the West Face of Mt. Huntington by a new route. We were in there for 32 days, got very high but were weathered off short of the summit. The picture is actually of me, taken by my buddy with my camera. The first ascent of the original route was made famous by Dave Roberts in his book, The Mountain of My Fear. I got married 3 weeks after my return (wedding was predicated on our survival).
