I actually used one of these presses during my childhood. My grandpa had one, and every year the extended family got together, harvested sorghum, brought it back, and pressed it through one of these. It ran off the PTO of his 1950's crank-start Ford tractor. We had an open fire where he boiled it down to molasses. When he passed in the 1980s, that tradition ended. Eventually the press was given to a historical society, though I'm not sure what they did with it.
