Not so freaky. It's been snowing like crazy in the Rockies and mountains in western Canada like crazy. Not sure if that is actually unusual or people are just hearing about it more. Stay warm and dry...

Technically flawed. Caught this guy snacking on a few peanuts the Jays had overlooked during the day. Only light was from a 100 watt porch light about 20 feet away so I switched over to full auto to get the flash. So little light that the focus was so-so, then over sharpening to compensate emphasized the noise.

A bicyclist weaves through the acrylic arches of "Surfhenge" by Malcolm Jones at the foot of the Imperial Beach pier, in the southwestern-most city in the continental United States. Surf culture is likewise woven into the fabric of this city, with public art and bus stop benches inspired by surfing and surfboard shapes. Even the city's mayor is a well-known local surfer.
