I got a new instant film camera today. Have seen a lot of diptychs done with two photos from the Instax Mini cameras. Of course since this was my first time using it I had the camera oriented wrong, but oh well. Learning curve!
Those instant film cameras are fun. I recall when I had a squeegee and peel-apart instant film camera many many decades ago.

Yesterday was a hard day for the Darmok household. We had to put down our old friend, Lucy, the best cat in the world for 21 years. She befriended every human and would never hurt a soul. Well loved by the humans she claimed as her own.

I am very sorry to hear this. Losing such a lovely soul and treasured companion is the most difficult of things, I well know. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Not really a pet, but friendly possum that would visit everyday for a bite to eat. I named her Twinkle Toes for her feet. Unfortunately she got hit by a car Monday morning, her injuries were to her head, so her two babies that were in her pouch (possums are marsupials) didn’t get hurt. I took them to a local wild life hospital where are doing fine. Life goes on.

I caught this one in my yard.
The Gray ratsnake or Gray rat snake (Pantherophis spiloides), also commonly known as the central ratsnake, chicken snake, midland ratsnake, or pilot black snake, is a species of nonvenomous snake in the genus Pantherophis in the subfamily Colubrinae.
Native to North America, Pantherophis spiloides is commonly found in the forests of the eastern and central United States.
An agile climber, the gray ratsnake is at home from the ground to the tree tops in many types of hardwood forest and cypress stands, along tree-lined streams and fields, and even around barns and sheds in close proximity to people.
A scent-hunter and a powerful constrictor, P. spiloides feeds primarily on small mammals, birds, and bird eggs. Neonates and juveniles prefer a diet of frogs and lizards.
