It's from the Lensbaby Velvet 56. I don't think I've ever noticed the bokeh being pointy like that before (maybe I just don't pay attention). It usually goes mushier/rounder I think. The lens has nine aperture blades according to the spec sheet. I'd say some of it has to do with shooting into some shrubbery and fences, but it seems too consistent throughout the frame, and I see it in others that I took yesterday from a different location.Interesting bokeh...octagons? The blades must not be as rounded I take it?
Amber waves of grain...Caught this while driving through a beautiful farming area in rural Oregon yesterday.

That was why I wondered if the blades weren’t as rounded. 9 or so blades is fairly standard on most lenses, but usually you get the rounded bokeh balls. Interesting look for sure to get them edged, feels more like a cinema lens. It's from the Lensbaby Velvet 56. They do seem to be rather squared off. (And no, this does not count as my POTD.)That was why I wondered if the blades weren’t as rounded. 9 or so blades is fairly standard on most lenses, but usually you get the rounded bokeh balls. Well that solves it! The reflex lenses get really interesting, serving up donuts. They do seem to be rather squared off. (And no, this does not count as my POTD.)
