Alcatraz, not getting into political BS about rebuilding it, I have been around it in a sailboat and my son swam from it in 2001 as part of an Iron Man Triathlon in 2001. Many people have done it. Not that secure, not worth wasting billions on it. Not worth losing millions on tourism and jobs.

No 2 son crossing finish line. Came in 10th in his age group in 2001.

Besides needing to be completely demolished and rebuilt, the island has no water nor sewage, everything has to be shipped in and out. Sewage used to be handled by San Francisco, but they have said no longer.
