How'd you get so close to a calf? Weren't you concerned about the mama? Wonderful photo, as always; you have quite the ability to catch the essence within the images.Calf from yesterday's pic decided to come in for a close up.

Vermont is spectacular - one of the most beautiful places on earth. I love it dearly for the clean air, views, food, hiking, etc... Oh, ok. Thank you so much. Striking photo! .... Just looked it up! VERY cool - attached to land by rope and tossed to the "casualty" so can be pulled in. Fitted with lights for nighttime rescue. Great idea for safety near dangerous waters. And the equipment has many fun names (for me, as an american). And great photo op.It’s a lifebelt holder

I see they must have these both in the U.S. and in England, because I looked up what they are called in England, thinking it was Hughmac who posted the photo! YEEKS. I wasn't joking when I said I had a heat-addled brain. I apologize for my confusion. I'm also sorry to hear about an increase in drownings. I hope these stations help.Life rings that have gone up around the lake front and beaches, you were close LOL. There have been quit a few drownings lately.
