I'm back (though I don't know how long). So, second smart watch (a Huawei, this time) broke in April and I started wearing my fifteen year old automatic again. Unfortunately, this gave me the new watch bug, so I ordered a new watch from the company that sold me my first automatic. Delivery time? Approx one month. While waiting, I bought a couple of less expensive watches, starting with this Chinese Seagull 1963.

It's a reissue of the watch supplied to aviators of the PLAFF and is built to a high standard. Is this a wind up? Absolutely it is. Forty eight turns of the crown to full power.
Did some research on the 1963 Seagull - interesting read. And the display back is nice with the red lettering application.

So, second part of the new watch adventure. This old (25 years, I think) Swatch Irony had been in a drawer for over a decade. Out of curiosity I took it to the local Swatch Shop, expecting be quoted a fortune for a new battery (assuming it would work at all) and a bracelet adjustment. The cost? It turns out it's free for the life of the watch, at least if you have access to a Swatch Shop. The watch is now working perfectly and I make a point of wearing once or twice a week.

The problem of being in a Swatch Shop? You're in Swatch Wonderland, but that's for tomorrow's photo.
