We've been visited by a curious pair of bluebirds this past week.
Often heard, but rarely seen. Nice.
Perhaps it’s a regional thing, but around here, our red-bellied friends are not very shy at all. Maybe the bird feeder helps with that, I don’t know. I think we might even have a family that will roost in our backyard silver maple sometimes.
Nice shot! I haven't seen the Snowbirds in probably 20 years.
20 years ago the Calgary Zoo closed its Polar Bear exhibit and I was absolutely delighted. More recently the zoo bought into the alarmist view that Glowbull warming would kill most of the Polar Bears and used that prediction as an excuse to open a new expanded version sometime this year. Of course since that dire prediction the Polar Bear population has exploded, completely shattering the pretext for reopening that sad part of the zoo's history.
