it’s actually a pansy, which is in the violet family but where i live they are sold as annuals, just for one season till they die back. they are highly hybridized to bloom in fun and different colors.

Ah okay I had to translate to english. Isnt pansy something not too nice to say to someone?
Oh well the german word for the pansy flower is Mother in law.....okayyyyy

So now I am deep diving into the differences which is aparently the leaf size of the bloom and bloom length as well as violets being from another region. How interesting ´never thought these were two different plants

I don't know what it means in your language, but here it is very occasionally used as a slang for a man who isn't "manly." But it's not objectionable to use it as the proper flower name.

its the same as the f word (brits use this for cigarette) it says in trnalsation apps.

I would suspect that the original slang insult might have its “roots” in a lack of tolerance for heat. Pansies are the first plant to show up in garden centers because they withstand cold snaps really well. Once it gets hot they don’t do so well.
