That's an interesting picture - how about a clue as to what it is?

Thanks! It is an image that I shot for the Octoberfest project that about 20 of us had been participating in on Nikon Cafe.....one of the rules of the project is that one can use up to three lenses and they must be prime lenses only. I participated using a 20mm f/1.8, a 50mm f/1.2 and a 135mm f/1.8. Since I am so fond of my macro lenses I found it actually restrictive at times when I had an idea that I wanted to try out which would be perfect with my 90mm macro lens.....

Anyway, so this one day as we were winding down for the end of the Octoberfest challenge I noticed the way the light was hitting a certain object in my kitchen and so grabbed the camera and slapped a lens on it (one of the chosen three chosen for the project) and experimented.....nope, that lens didn't work. Tried another lens, the 50mm one, and voila! Spot metering is very helpful when one wants to really emphasize and work with light and shadows. Took the image into DXO PhotoLab 4 and worked with it a bit, and voila!

It is actually a common object which would look familiar to most people...... I love to shoot something ordinary and make it look entirely different or at least extraordinary. I like to be interested in what I shoot and shooting the same old thing day after day just isn't appealing to me. I don't want to be bored and I don't want to bore any potential viewers. I like playing around with light and shadow, colors and shapes, and as is obvious, definitely tend to be spontaneous, so often I pick up the camera and put a lens on it with absolutely no idea of what I might find to shoot.....

OK, looks as though no one has guessed what this is, so I'll Reveal All.

It's my kitchen faucet! Light was coming in just right from the windows above the sink and I noticed the interesting way the shadows and light moved on the surface of the faucet's top, so I grabbed the camera and got to work playing around with what I was seeing..... :)
