Always a sucker for upper's / bombers hitting signs with stickers
I know some people would call that graffiti or vandalism but I think it's cool.. I would go as far as to say that it is adding artwork to what would otherwise be a boring sign.
So true, it is artwork in an urban type of way, not everything has to be prettyI know some people would call that graffiti or vandalism but I think it's cool.. I would go as far as to say that it is adding artwork to what would otherwise be a boring sign.
I wonder if the person who placed the first sticker on that sign was thinking "I hope this catches on".So true, it is artwork in an urban type of way, not everything has to be pretty
It is an artform IMO... the vandalism thing is a coin toss - I've never seen such defacing, ever, and I'm a native NYer - but Venice Beach is king for both. Worth a visit just for the street art.I know some people would call that graffiti or vandalism but I think it's cool.. I was thinking when I saw these signs: imagine the first day in the life of a freshly installed sign... that would make a great time lapse.I wonder if the person who placed the first sticker on that sign was thinking "I hope this catches on".
Venice? The stickers may be “art” but overall the “artwork” has brought the place down.
It's kind of relative, I think... I've been going to Venice for nearly 40 years and to me, it's never been cleaner or nicer. 80s and 90s were way dirtier and tougher, not to mention the glorious Suicidal Tendencies years. I wish I had pictures of this, but I was having too much fun.Venice? The stickers may be “art” but overall the “artwork” has brought the place down.
