Photo vault data stuck on Iphone 6

My photo vault app recently messed up on me. upon opening it seemed to have reinstalled and updated itself(auto updates were off). it asked me to set up a password as if i had never used the app. Since i initially installed it i had updated the apple ID email sign in but still have the same account. Anyway once i entered a new pin, all my albums were gone. BUT when i look under settings > storage> my photo vault app still shows the 5.08Gb of data is saved to my phone. I am wondering how i can either get the app to locate this data or otherwise extract it from the app encrypted save location on my iphone and transfer to my PC. I have had no luck anywhere trying to resolve this issue, seems to be a unique one. let your great minds wander, any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
