The earlier the better; this is the time during the beta process that they're willing to make the most changes.

I was once hopeful like you. But I still have this:

Is there still a way to get to a set of folders as currently can in iOS 17? Specifically, recents? (Which is basically “all photos” and is my main way of browsing my photo library since it is the closest to the classic iOS camera roll experience.

It is better than the tab actually named “all photos” which is not what I am using, just so we are clear.

They sometimes do listen. Remember the horrible Safari changes that were in early betas a few versions back? There was a big uproar and Apple backtracked on them.

I'd love for them to backtrack on the Photos changes. They're just not worth the confusion and chaos this is going to cause among users.

This is my big question, too. As it stands now, up thru the latest version of iOS 17, the "Library" Section/Tab seems to be what the new look is going for, but still having the "Albums" section to go back to when needed- like getting to most Recents or Favorites. I've taken years to curate my photo libraries and absolutely do NOT want things all mixed up so I can only get at them thru what AI deems appropriate.

I want to go to a folder and see my most recent photos. And with as little taps as possible.

I think I know what you're talking about. In iOS 17 the left most tab was all your photos sorted by capture date and the 'recents' folder you're describing was all photos on your device sorted by most recently added (rather than the metadata 'created at' timestamp). If that's what you're talking about, it's been consolidated into the main library view at the top. There's a button that lets you sort by "Date Captured" or "Recently Added"

Is that the smallest the thumbnails get? Im using a test phone with like 100 photos I’m hoping that’s why but the thumbnails no longer shrink. When I view in landscape I was able to pinch and shrink the thumbnails real tiny to look for an image faster or jump to another year.

If that is as far as you can zoom in on the grid, I will not like that.

No in the main gallery and collection subviews you can still pinch to make the thumbnails bigger or smaller, just like iOS 17

On my iPhone I go to landscape and I can only zoom out so far…I’m getting thumbnail photos across, can’t pinch them smaller to see more like 15 or 20 photos across. I’ll add more photos see if it changes.

EDIT: Figured it out, it was the amount of images, once it got to 180 images I could zoom out to see more images. If you just have 100 or so images it only zooms out to 5 photos across.
