I love your photos- you make me feel like I’m right there in the diner!
Thank you for the kind compliment. I’m always trying to be somewhat artistic when it comes to framing my photos before taking them and applying unique retro looking colors to the image. I am on Instagram if you want to go look at more @Toddhphy

thanks again.

Here is a shot I took earlier on my way home. Texas / Louisiana border rest area. Texas side. The Two two stars you see at the tip of the star and above the tree are Jupiter and Saturn as they are beginning to get close together. They will be within 1/2° Apart on December 21st after sunset.
Night mode, handheld.

OK, a little experiment here which I think yielded similar looking results. 22 and 25 minute exposures of the night sky using the 12 Pro Max and the 12 pro. I am able to do this using the nightcap app in star trails mode. It basically stacks individual photos together to create star trails. When you zoom into the photo you can see the individual dots at full resolution. It’s not bad though. This same option can be used during the daytime to create blurred clouds moving over a scene. I ended up catching an airplane and both of them. Go figure!!

The 12 pro max definitely picks up fainter stars than the 12 pro does.

This is a great app! What do you think?

Do any forums not downgrade picture quality?

I’ve also noticed quality drops when sharing pictures via WhatsApp in statuses and messages. Noticed that Instagram downgrades as well but not as aggressively as whatsapp. Seems like it’s hard to share amazing pics to others unless it’s via email.
Most websites and apps that are geared towards mobile photos will do that. Easier for people to upload, view and for them to store lower quality photos. You would have to go to a site like Flickr that is exclusively for photo sharing - and more importantly NOT leaning towards mobile photos (like WhatsApp and Instagram).

All these photos are very nice. Great job folks

I'm looking forward to getting ProRaw on the Pro Max with 14.3. I generally like the JPEG out of the phone but some images have too much sharpening. I wish Apple provided control over level of sharpening for JPEG. I'm playing around with Halide for RAW some more now but it appears you lose some degree of stabilization with it - still trying to sort that out.

Interesting. You can see the difference the larger sensor makes. The Pro Max picked up a lot more stars.
