Apple ProRAW: a comparison of the 12 pro max and the 12 pro:
The Milky Way: tracked on a Skywatcher Star adventurer for a 30” exposure each. The tracker only helped with keeping the stars pinpoint. Otherwise they would be slightly elongated. The 12 pro max picks up a lot more faint stars than the 12 pro thanks to the 47% larger sensor and higher ISO. The images are a little noisy at 5000 ISO and only a 30” exposure. Hopefully night mode on iOS 15 and on the iPhone 13 will be longer, hopefully up to 2 minutes. That would be great. For now, this is all we can do. By the way, the Milky Way shots are from Horseshoe Bay Texas northwest of Austin. Fairly dark there. Lightroom mobile was used for the edits.

Only thing that's missing is the ability to pin-point focus on the stars and that will surely be a game changer as you can see between the same photo I took with iPhone against a dedicated camera
