i didn't even know the iPad Air would have this feature, but when I did I had so much fun watching movies/tv shows from the videos app and videos on safari. Hopefully YouTube will do the same thing!

Very excited to try this, and the split screen offering - having a football stream and twitter open (to moan about players) will be brilliant.

I've only recently bought the iPad Air 2 and I'm so glad I decided not to cheap out and buy the IA1, I'd be kicking myself right now

I think this is going to be so useful with not only the current iPad's but also the rumoured iPad Pro, i think this is (i could be wrong tho ) is a BIG indication that there will be a bigger iPad.

The full 50/50% split screen feature is indeed only on the iPad Air 2.

However the Picture-in-picture and 'Slide Over' do also work on the iPad Air and iPad mini 2 and 3.
I can't wait to try these two PIP and Slide Over features on my iPad mini2 in September.

I wouldn't be interested in a 12 inch iPad, After trying a Samsung Galaxy Note tablet and having a Surface Pro 3 for work, for me it isn't worth the weight and size hassles.

I might be if it could replace my laptop i.e my MacBook Pro, i think with the whole Multitask and side view stuff Apple are looking at it to replace some peoples laptops.

It will be interesting to see what happens, for example will the iPad Pro ( if it's called that) have a higher resolution display? Will it have more Ram? Will it have a USB slot and so on. Will it be different and marketed different from the current iPads.

How have you gotten it to work in the YouTube app? So far I can only get it to work on videos that use the traditional iOS video pane
YouTube is probably going to be a pain about implementing this feature because they have whiny content owners who insist on having their content viewed a certain way on mobile devices.

A good example is YouTube video pausing when you leave the app because you want to keep listening to just the audio.

Expect YouTube to make this feature less useful than it could be. :p

No it doesn't work lol

Not yet because developers needs to app some minor coding (as was mentioned in the Apple presentation with Slide Over) to support e.g. Slide Over and PIP.

So for picture in picture, is this something that app devs can use in their apps, say for instance Netflix etc?

The developers need to add some coding to their apps to support PIP. As was mentioned in the Apple presentation Twitter did it in a few minutes to support Slide Over i don't know if it is also so easy with PIP.

Apple video app is the only native app works as PIP. Once the video starts playing and when you press home button it will stay in the corner. I've tried Youtube and Netflix they don't work as of yet.

Tell this to Samsung who have introduced this features with their „brand new“ Galaxy S3 :D
