same area

I am on my second 24" for this condensation problem and both computers had the mark in exactly the same area. Bottom right, though the second unit (two weeks old) can have condensation covering nearly one third of the screen.
I live in in the tropics but this is our dry season and cooler time. I hate to think what is going to happen when the temperature rises. Maybe I should take some great advise here and bury my house. That should sort out my Apple problem. It's funny 'cause this is my first Apple and I was rapped in it until this happened. Do I have to solve my problem by going back to an IBM computer (if I can't afford to modify the house) Ha! Ha!

My 24" iMac doesn't have any issues and I live in Miami where its consistently 80-90 degrees and 80% humidity. That being said I leave my house set at around 70 degrees so it never has a large variation in hot / cold.

If you cannot bury your house -- perhaps consider shrink wrap as an alternative?

Band aid solution

I've discovered you can speed the 'defrosting' up by viewing an all white screen, it should clear up allot faster, but humidity inside computer probably isn't a good thing for long term reliability :(

Picture of condensation on my 24" alu

Well the condensation has come back and with a vengeance. Haven't used the iMac properly for around 2 months, but over the weekend needed to use Aperture. Over 50% of the screen was covered with condensation after 20 minutes of being on. Took around 3 hours for it to clear. Couldn't perform any photo editing as the screen was "blurry" due to the water.

Took it into a reseller on Monday and they called today stating that they took the machine apart, wiped it down and put it all back together. This is the 2nd time I have had to get this done.

What I am wondering, is whether or not anyone has successfully had their machine replaced due to this issue?
The room that the iMac is kept in isn't particularly cold, nor humid. I have littered the room with dehumidifiers, and they remain mostly dry. The air in the room is quite dry, but I keep getting moisture in the iMac.

My machine is a mid-2007 iMac Core 2 Extreme 2.8GHz. Does anyone with a current generation iMac 24" have issues with condensation?

Cool screen, warm humid air = IMAC condensation

Hi,

This phenomenon is real. It occurs when the warm air inside the IMAC hits the cool screen, causing precipitation and condensation. The water vapor, a gas, becomes a liquid and precipitates on the screen, much like a car window on a cool day or a Coke can taken into a warm environment. I posted possible solutions to this design flaw on another post.

The IMACs have not been designed to function in real world conditions. That is a flaw in design by any stretch of the definition of flaw. Come on Apple, fess up.
