Thought I'd contribute since haven't seen a pick of one yet:

Cool that your 3rd Gen Classic still works.

My wife has a 4th Gen Classic that's traveled to New Zealand, Mexico, and on two cross country U.S. road trips. She also used it while throwing in two college ceramics classes, which I thought would be the end of it. It actually died a few months after the second road trip, but after she cleaned it up and let it sit for a few days, it came back to life and is still going strong.

Yeah it still works great. Battery life is good for feces but otherwise it's in near mint condition since it's been in a case since new. I found two more laying around in drawers. One is a 5Gb first gen. bought first day they were introduced with true mechanical scrolling clickwheel and all. Found a 20Gb update to that one. All still work but are old firewire so limited on computers I can use them on without adapters.

are those both first gens? Also the picture of the shuffle you gave me is like way smaller then the picture of my shuffle. Is there something you did to it

you need to click on the picture to go to the linked larger version and those are the first and second generation iPods, there are very subtle differences in the images.

Finally got the wife's 3G nano...

Updated to show 'em all.
I also have a 2G iPhone somewhere in a box and I've had the 3G, 4G, and 5G iPods; which have been long since sold or given away.

awwww that's sure an abusive name you gave your first generation iPod Shuffle.

LOL It's been named that forever. I laughed when I plugged it in as I haven't plugged the poor bastard in for ages. I used to use it as my bathroom music player but the speakers busted.

I guess I'm the only one who has a mini. :p

It shows it as silver, but it's actually blue. I guess Apple didn't try to differentiate between colors or something.

The mini is the only iPod I never bought. Don't know why, just never appealed to me much.

I have a few different gens of iPods laying about, but I would think the iPod/iPhone images would have to be buried in iTunes somewhere...

Interestingly, Apple just released a firmware update for it a few days ago. I didn't know they still did that for these old iPods. :p
