I think I have about 5-10 pints a year these days. That used to be a Friday night in my teens!
And same here, in my student and er, early, (not so early) postgrad days.Oof not Friday but certainly once a month when I was in University (or equivalent). Seems to be the norm for some of our students too.
An excellent photo.Nope my photo.
Ah, wonderful.Had a steak and chips to go with.
My condolences; be kind to yourselves. My father-in-law passed away last week; Dos Equis was his favorite beer. I cant tell you how many bottles we went through over the years. This one's for Larry!

Plush - a Stone Temple Pilots reference??
Oooooh.View attachment 2336928 This was a little bit ago when I cycled to Belgium and rewarded myself with the local blonde beer. Great beer
It was excellent. Sadly it's no longer a true trappist beer since the monks have all retired and since last year they no longer brew it at the abbeyOooooh.
Genuine Trappist beer, Achel beer; wonderful.
I can well imagine that it must have been an excellent beer; I'm impressed and envious and assume that you thoroughly enjoyed it.
Ah, yes.It was excellent. Sadly it's no longer a true trappist beer since the monks have all retired and since last year they no longer brew it at the abbey
Excellent.It still tastes good though
It's still brewed in the abbey in the place called Hamont-Achel, and it definitely still is a trappist style beer. But since calling it 'trappist' is a protected term only for beers brewed in an abbey under the monks watch, you can't officially call it a real trappist beer anymore ever since they sold the brewer to a regular company last year. They also can't use the trappist logo.Ah, yes.
I had read that Achel had recently lost its "Trappist" designation even though it still brews beer to the Trappist standard.
Where is it brewed?
I daresay that they should (still) be able to market it as "Abbey style" beer, or Trappist style beer.
This is one of the (formerly) Trappist beers that is not as widely available as some of the others.
Ah, yes, I do recall that specific requirements exist if you wish to be able to describe the beer you brew as "Trappist".It's still brewed in the abbey in the place called Hamont-Achel, and it definitely still is a trappist style beer. If I recall correctly they underwent a rebrand in november and redesigned their bottles and removed any mention of it having been a trappist beer

Two of my favourite German brewers, Mönchhof Landbier (although their regular pils is even better) in a Rothaus glass. I went to the Rothaus brewery last summer and their giftshop was awesome, but the smell of the brewery was even better!
Have you ever tried the, ah, more robust version, namely, Guinness Foreign Extra?
Not my pic but it is what I'm drinking.
