How are you riding it right now? I bought a similar bike online, fixed/free wheel, and tried both. Brakes that came on the bike were garbage, and the one time I tried fixed it was a bit much, so I opted for a new wheel with a coaster brake. Works decently enough for what I use it for. Emergency stops are hairy, but they are on most bikes.

I am hoping that over this summer, I will be able to take it out more and try the fixed gear again, as ultimately that is what I would like to ride, just for the simplicity of it.

So far its fine. I only ride a few miles to work each day. I might upgrade the brakes. I ride it as a free wheal.

My 2004 Specialized Allez when it was new. It's got lots of miles on it now as well as new pedals and seat, but it's still my go-to road bike every morning.

My around-town bike is a 1990 Schwinn Woodlands.

Thank You Orange Crane! New D8I- Bedford on the way!

I just bought a new bicycle online...

I've been looking for a more comfortable riding experience and have been researching bikes for about a year now. I currently have a Bianchi Milano which is a tad too small for me and is also marketed as a cafe racer.

I sent a PM to Orange Crane inquiring about his bicycles and after almost 8 months later decided to get a Public D8i - Bedford.

It should look something like this, with front and rear matching racks:

Will upload pictures once I have it

Do any of you folks have any opinions on Fat Bikes? I live on an island and hear they are good for riding on sand, but I've never had the occasion to try one.

Looking a new frame or fork for my fixie. Any suggestions?

I currently have a State Bike fixie which is crap

In the same boat here. Bigshot bike, and the frame is just meh. I was looking at Leader or 16Teeth, but am not sure what I will end up with.

I really like my Redline Urbis

It also came with pretty decent brakes if you wanted to just ride it ss.

I've had it for 2 years and not one issue thus far. Ridden daily.

I have upgraded a few things...bar ends, seat, pedals and straps. Also put a pad on but because I like the look and I strap other things to it. (I did these things slowly as I wanted to customize--the stuff that came on it was ok for the most part. I did torque/break the pedals with my mad pedaling power, lol)

I'm just now about to need new grips for it.

This is my fixie. flip flop, single gear one side fixed gear other side. This is a beater. For my next fixie, I'm looking at 8bar or bianchi frames.
