Nice truck wgr73, plain on installing the Banks power package? Look into a propane injection kit ;-)

Thanks! Lol, well I already have EFI live (Custom tuning w/ DSP5 switch), and a MBRP exhaust...so the only other thing I need at this point is a transmission. Im thinking about a Suncoast stage VI. Propane/meth may come later on, I'm not sure yet. Its funny when your at a stop light and a "gasser" truck with an exhaust pulls up next to you...I truly do feel sorry for them. They have no clue
You're crazy. Handler> barge.
Different tastes so you're redeemed. Maybe.......
2000 Mustang GT
2009 Challenger R/T
Compensating for something? J/K
I didn't think I would like the new Charger until I was at he unveiling of it in Chicago last winter. Nice car inside and out, however I wish the seat bolsters were tighter. It is like they were designed for larger people (I am 6' 180). They act like half pipes and almost make me slide up and out of them on hard corners . I guess a set of RECARO seats could help with that though.
I like them in darker colors. Nice ride!
haha thanks. I have been a Ford/Mustang guy all my life, so it was time for something a little different. I didn't feel like waiting for the new Camaro and the things worked out well with this particular dealer. Also, I am tired of driving stick in Los Angeles traffic every day.
It's a great looking car, but does it feel like 4100lb car? I'm sure 420Hp helps but it's still a butt load of weight to be lugging around.
There are some times whre it feels pretty boaty. Then there are many times when I don't realize how fast I am really going and it doesn't feel like it at all. The turning radius is much better than on my Mustang too.
have the same feeling in my charger.. but in 250 and 6'2 and already have problems in there, test drove the challanger once and had no space at all
good looking car but not for me... i ride my charger or bmw
The new Smart Fortwo has good interior space, maybe you should check that out?
Brian Cooley from CNet tested it on the Car Tech podcast and he had no problems with it, despite being a pretty tall guy.
I don't think that's quite the sort of car they're after. Not everybody wants a Smart.
That is a Challenger R/T, not the SRT-8. So, you're about 50hp high. Not that 370hp is a little amount. But, as you said, combined with the 4,100lb+ curb weight, a 4-cyl Honda S2000 will give one a good run for its money. It's a great looking car, but does it feel like 4100lb car? Thank you... I want to go 155+ MPH, or pull my boat at 90 MPH... Can you do that with a smart?
Yes, both of those sound like perfectly safe things to be doing.I want to go 155+ MPH, or pull my boat at 90 MPH...

I really do like the look of the Challenger though. Both it, and the new Camaro, are a couple of great throwbacks to the 60-70s, and have lots of character. I just think, with the current gas situation in this country, and the rest of the world, they are about 5-10 years late on really capitalizing on this.
If there would have been an old-school Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger back in the early '00s, they would have sold TONS of them. But now, I'm not sure how many people REALLY want to have a V8 sports car that gets realistic mileage in the teens.
But, if you drive in so much stop-and-go traffic in L.A. that you don't want to drive a manual transmission any more, how often are you driving on the freeway?...and get 25 MPG on the freeway which I think is pretty good.

Don't get me wrong, getting 25mpg in a car that size, with an engine that size, is possible. I just don't think people buy cars like that for the gas mileage. Hell, you could probably stretch it to almost 30mpg by driving very carefully. But, at that point, why have a muscle car?
Also, I don't think "25mpg" and "pretty good" should realistically be used in the same sentence, EVER.
I wasn't questioning the ownership of a muscle car. I used to drive an Eagle Talon that could run 11.2s in the 1/4, so muscle is all good by me. I was just questioning the mention of its mileage as a selling point. As you stated why have a muscle car?

Yes, in ideal conditions, and driven very mildly, you can probably get 25mpg with a V8 Challenger. But to me, that is basically the same as someone who drives a Prius saying they can go 110mph. It can do it, but it's hardly what the car was built for.
Again, I really like the car. I have nothing bad to say about it. I just think mentioning the mileage, no matter how good or bad you personally think it is, is missing the point of the car. You gotta just own up to it. You bought a muscle car. Be proud of the fact that it will get like 10mpg when driven the way it was intended.
