Bought it this morning, it was exactly what the wife wanted. Got it for under invoice, got a good amount on my trade, and took advantage of 0% financing. First new car for either of us--happy wife, happy life. It's a 2012 2.5L w/sunroof. Has heated seats, push button ignition with that smart key that never leaves your pocket, etc. She loves it to death.

Very nice! Love the new Beetle shape.

Scince I haven't posted any pictures in a while, here's my Infiniti I30 which I've done a lot to since I got it last year. Asian Domestic Market dashboard piece, new navigation head unit, new taillights, LED interior and license plate lights, Infiniti I35 wheels, OEM rubber floor mats, OEM sunroof wind deflector, OEM splash guards, and an OEM spoiler (some of these things I was lucky to get, and I think OEM stuff has a nice look on the car). Love how it looks after getting everything and the tires I put on when I got the wheels make it so much better to drive than the ones that were on the car when I got it. Here's some pics I got as a storm rolled in at the Jersey shore (not Seaside Heights, I've been there once). All of them were taken with my iPhone 4, hopefully when I get the next gen will be able to capture the shots a little nicer.

My wife's three week old Beetle got hit today in our apartment parking lot.

You have to be effing kidding me, a 10" long dent/scrape on the rear quarter panel of all places.

Thank god the guy has insurance and had the integrity to find my wife and tell her and give her his information.

But still, it'll never be the same. I've always wanted a car with one flawless coat of factory paint without so much as a rock chip on it, and I finally got it. Well that was certainly short-lived.

I'd like to trade it now after we fix it since it just won't be the same but being three weeks old we will end up getting utterly reamed on it.

I'm sorry

That would piss me off

A year later after buying my car new, I am still parking way out in the parking lot to avoid door dings

Yep, I park far away from everyone too and whenever I come outside I always check both sides to make sure there are no door dings--there's definitely that downside to having a new car.

Well instead I got a big fat dent on the quarter panel on a compound curve which will be a royal PITA to fix properly. I've never so much as had a door ding, scratch, scrape, fender bender, NOTHING in almost 15 years of driving, never made any insurance claim. And three weeks after I buy my first brand new car? Sure ****.

The guy hit it with a piece of furniture.

I feel your pain, our MINI Countryman (See Post #915) is in the bodyshop as driving along on Friday a fox darted out from a treeline on the right and i just could'nt stop, it's fairly minor damage in the big scheme of things really (Cracked bumper/lower grill and wheel arch) but enough to p*ss you off royally, we had had it for 2 weeks 1 day!, hopefully the garage can do a good job and have it looking as good as new and you won't feel like this once it's fixed.

For anyone interested the fox didnt make it :(

I can easily buff off the scrape with my DA, but it makes no difference since aside from the obvious dent, there is also a crease along the scrape.

Luckily though it's not part of the quarter panel, but rather on the rear fender flare which I *think* is a removable/replaceable part, so I'm hoping they just replace the panel rather than try to pull it out, then all I have to worry about is the paint match. Gonna get estimates Saturday.

^Great CTS! I drove them all the time when i worked at the Cadillac dealership and I loved the way they handled. Very nice.

Well I don't think I have posted a picture of my newest car, but I totaled my STS back in March so this is what I'm driving now:

'00 323i. Steptronic Auto (boo!), 143k miles. Not perfect, but pretty solid buy for $6k.

I play the 328i e46 to your 323i e46!

Just cleaned her today, needs a lot of work even though it doesn't look that bad. Notice the orange bungie cord holding on the kidney grill  ?

My dad got lucky when he got them. Over the past 12 years they have taken some damage. Didn't help when the people at the tire place scratched them a bit.

Infiniti I30

I love love love the stock look and the new taillights. I've never understood people's infatuations with gaudy aftermarket wheels instead of using top of the line OEM wheels like yours.

In fact, the other day I saw a brand new Cadillac SRX at Target with terribly tacky aftermarket chrome wheels; Cadillac offers extremely tasteful chrome wheels, why ruin the SUV like that?

Thanks for the compliment! I'm really happy with how my car came out, and that Infiniti made such a nicer wheel design for the newer cars, since my stock ones looked awful. Also, I didn't get to post a picture of how my interior is set up. A few months ago, a guy on a forum I am on for the car had dashboard pieces from Asia (the car was marketed as the Nissan Cefiro there). From the factory, the radio's faceplate was shaped for the dashboard, while the Asian market cars had a generic din-sized radio, with the dashboard piece having the wood-grain finish to match my interior, and supports pretty much any aftermarket radio much more nicely than a $20 dash kit, like I had in my car for almost a year. So I picked one up and have my center stack a much nicer look.

Before with flip-out nav and ugly aftermarket kit

After with a much more recent double-din navigation unit, complete with a customized splash screen for when I start up my car/ the radio turns on :D

c3cc429c.jpg

A much smaller piece I also got was a cover to take out the interior third brake light since the spoiler has LEDs integrated into it. Called up my closest dealer, and they said only two dealers in the country had it, one of them being only an hour from me so I drove down and picked it up (parts guy said it had been sitting since the dealership opened in 2005). Now all I'm waiting to do to the car is for some new LEDs to come from eBay (didn't like the cool white light look with a tan interior so I have warm white bulbs coming), a transmission fluid change, and some rust to get taken care of, just on the leading edge of the wheel wells, so nothing horribly major or noticeable. Hopefully those last two will happen before I start commuting back to school every day in September. And maybe remote start, but without it this past winter wasn't awful (my previous car had it and I thought it was the best thing ever)

Do you do airport runs? ;)

Being here taught me a few things about cars:

If it's a Grand Marquis, Town Car or (beat up looking) Crown Victoria standing outside the train station, it's a cab. If it's a newish Impala or Crown Victoria with antennas coming out through the trunk, it's a police car...

Yeah. One of the largest cars in production until just recently.

I don't do airport runs, but I do drive around 600 miles a week for work, so having a large, spacious, and powerful car is nice. I can't imagine being in a small, harsh riding car for that much time.
