Agreed, too bad the darkest legal in my state is 50% which is barely worth it.

Thanks, I'm glad I went with gray this time.

Today I went back to see my Mustang sales guy and helped my dad put in a special order for a 2014 Edge Limited AWD - Kodiak Brown on Sienna with the 20" rims and loaded. Not actual pic but will look identical when it comes in:

Nice color. He'll have one of the last new ones of that generation before the new 2015.

Thanks, I haven't been able to figure out if the Edge is really getting the redesign for 2015 or if it's more likely 2016…all I can find are 2015 Edge concept photos, but if the new Edge were really being released for 2015, there surely would be lots of real deal photos and an unveiling of a real (non-concept) version by now…I would also think that it would be on Ford's site now, just like the 2015 Mustang and Expedition which are both getting '15 redesigns?

My gut tells me there won't be a new Edge until 2016 based on lack of anything but concept photos at this point.

Love the drop and Interlagos on the JSW. Had those on my wife's TDI before I switched them out to a set of Talledegas.

Thanks. I've seen them on Golfs and they look good. Like'em on the JSW, I don't see myself coming and going. Although there's a guy in Canada who just put them on. Hmmm, what's the odds that I'll be sitting at a stop light next to him?:D. Like Talledegas, I'd considered them but Interlagos. What can I say. Cheers

Hooked up my old iPhone 4s to my Kiwi OBD2 Wifi scanner. Just wanted to see the performance. Spun the tires going into 2nd gear which resulted in a not so good 0-60 time. It was also around 90 degrees outside. I couldn't get a decent 1/8 mile time because I was running out of straight road.

Image

That cannot be an actual 1/4 mile time. Is that calculated on the short run that you did? Something definitely wrong there with that time, regardless of the temperature.

I let off the gas and it kept recording until I reached 1/4 mile so it's not an accurate 1/4 mile time. I didn't even have enough road to do an accurate 1/8 mile time.

Yeah that wouldn't surprise me. There haven't even been pictures of a production version yet.

Every day I wake up and open the garage to take it out, I smile. When I sit down in the car and turn the ignition on, I smile. When I drive it, I smile.

It is by no means a brand new car or the quickest, but I really enjoy every single second with it.

Thanks!

Lovely car, too! I wish the cars here in Denmark weren't so darn expensive. :(

Thanks, I guess :) It's just taken and edited directly on my iPhone, if I recall correctly it's just a filter from the Photos app with a small vignette added from another app.

Great looking car. Let my E46 go in 2010 and still miss it. I had a 323i so I know all about how much fun can be had with low power in those cars. An all time great chassis in my opinion.

Picked up on Sunday. Traded in my black 2013 and snagged this much better equipped one.

I reupholstered my seats and recovered the door panel inserts to give the interior a much more two-toned effect. I think it came out very well!

That looks like some nice work on the seats. Was that a DIY job?

DIY in the sense that I ordered the leather replacement skins from leatherseats.com and installed them myself. I won't pretend to have the skills to cut and sew the leather into the shapes needed to make it fit so well. I took the seats out on Friday evening and had them back in on Sunday morning.

The door panel inserts (tan pieces above the armrests were originally black) were way more work than I expected. I spent much of the week after work getting them ready to put back in this past weekend.

Ahh, cool. Yeah, there are some excellent aftermarket “pre-fab” covers. I hear you about the doors, interior panels always tend to be a huge PITA, and usually use some kind of plastic fasteners that break. When I was installing some aftermarket audio in my S2000 (your NSX’s little brother :D ), I wound up ordering a bag of various clips as backup :)

It’s amazing how good seating effects the overall driving experience - that was always my biggest complaint with my Z06: a high performance driver’s car with painfully craptacular seats (I wound up with Caravaggio aftermarket seats that were spectacular).

Nice ride, thanks for the pics and followup
