Out with the 2014 MK6 APR Stage 2 GLi...on to my next project!!! I love it even in its stock form. 2020 VW GTi...I couldn't wait for the MK8. My GLI had 215k on it and needed to go.

Congrats, the GTI is such a fun car. Any mods planned?
Eventually yes. I am going to wait a bit to make to and void the warrant, that way I can make sure its not a lemon or anything. I had a MK6 GLI before this and it was APR Stage 2, with a lot of other bolt ons. I want to do APR Stage 1 or APR Plus on the GTI though. I may go ahead and do the APR Plus tune since it comes with its own factory matching warranty. Id still be at over 300hp and I wanna say over 350ft lbs of torque. It would be a beast then, only issue is FWD...no AWD like the R. I didn't realize this until just a few days ago but APR discontinued Stage 2 tunes, from what I can gather its due to emissions. I also live in AZ so a aftermarket intercooler would really help when running with any sort of tune or added power.

But for right this moment I would like to get some spacers, especially for the rear wheels to make them more flush with the body. And some sort of intake(probably APR as well). As I'm typing this and thinking about the APR Plus tune matching the factory warranty that may happen sooner than I originally said :p

Very nice. I've got a heavily modded MK7 GTI which I attached a photo of. Wish I picked up an R for the AWD, but figured that out after the car was purchased. Great cars...enjoy!

I know its only the rear half but that looks amazing! In a nutshell how much power to the wheels are you at, and how bad is the wheel spin?
Thank you! I’ll post a picture of the front half soon. Car is putting down about 425 whp at the moment. Currently running the EQT Vortex XL turbo. Looking at additional fuel system upgrades to get it over 500. The wheel spin in terrible lol.

I bought a new to me car a couple of weeks ago, a 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS. It is optioned well with a 6MT, X73 fixed sport suspension, a limited slip diff as part of the PTV package, navigation, 18-way sport seats plus, and some other stuff. I'll be taking it to Buttonwillow this weekend so new brake rotors, pads and fluid were addressed on Monday. I ordered a set of RE71R tires for the pictured wheels but UPS sent the rears on a grand tour of America and I doubt they'll get mounted in time. Fortunately the OE tires that were on the car when I bought it are nearly new.

So I have a question, what made you choose the Cayman over say the 911 a year or two older? I haven't driven a Cayman of recent, but I do look at the 911 more so. Would love to know the reasoning behind this choice, to help me know what to look at myself.

Preference mostly. I like the Cayman and I like the 981 GTS very much. I thought about a 911 but I've always been drawn to the Cayman. I almost bought a 987.1 Cayman back in 2006, but I went with a BMW Z4MC instead. By design, the Cayman has the better chassis. If I'd gone the 911 route then a 997 C2S would have been the target car. This car is a few years newer than the newest of the 997's.
