Here is my current toy...2020 VW GTi. Tomorrow its headed to the shop to get a set of VWR Springs installed, a set of spacers to make the wheels flush to the body, and a nice little starter Stage 1 ECU tune. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve right now.
Let us know how the upgrades go...

I've been thinking about rolling my "fun" car and the family hauler into the same vehicle (by way of something like a Durango SRT/392), and picking up a smaller ride to stash for a low use 2nd car (when that need comes up), and one of the top contenders is a new GTI. Just a killer little package for under $30K, and something we could pass on to the little G when she starts driving (*Dad groan* :D)

I just found this thread.

Terrific. One of my favorite driving experiences was being able to lap my buddies Exige S at an event in Roebling Road, sure, it didn't have the big HP numbers of many cars there (including mine), but the stunning power-to-weight, and driving dynamics were as good as anything at the track.

Eyeing a "fun car" as my wrangler will always be my daily.
Looking at a GT Mustang but not sold completely on it as of yet.
I just wanna go fast, keep miles low, and pass it down to my son in the future.

Decisions, decisions.

Screenshot from the BMW Connected App on my Apple Watch. I gave up on being able to afford a Model Y so I bought this CPO X1 last month.

Would be the same cars for the entire series, 2009-current. Combined age of 98 years! My daily driver is the 912E, my 'garage queen' is the Beetle. Although I don't actually own or believe in Garage Queens, as you can see below. I fundamentally believe that the value in a car is in the joy of driving it and that the value of any car not being driven is $0. I do think I will finally have to retire the Porsche from winters. It's becoming too expensive to keep up with the rust issues, assuming I want to keep the car solid and looking good (both of which I do.) Welding and body work are not cheap. Either that or I need to invest in welding equipment myself and learn to weld. The Beetle has not seen a winter since I purchased it way back around '90 or so. The extremely compressed vids are from the Porsche, but the Beetle sees plenty of amateur motorsports action itself (and may actually be a slightly faster car on an extremely tight course). For the uninitiated, the second vid is indeed autocross on a frozen lake.
