I'm an orphaned Saaboholic (had an '86 Turbo, '88 Convertible, and '01 Convertible) but it was getting too hard to find parts for the '01 so I downgraded to this 2018 Audi A5. Nothing fancy but I love driving thru the mountains topless.

Updates to my Mazdaspeed 3. I've swapped wheels for a set of stock wheels, which I really love the look of! Next, I've replaced my BC Coilovers with Silvers Coilovers with a higher spring rate. I'm really happy with how this car is turning out! Next task is to dial in the ride height (the rear is a monster truck) as well as paint... (Yes, I know I'm very low. I'm aware that a lot of people think it's stupid, but I like it, and the roads in my area aren't too bad. With the higher spring rate on my new coilovers I don't rub or scrape.)

So, I wasn’t planning on buying a car but I bought a new (to me) car… It’s a 2017 Mazda 3 Touring hatchback. 45k miles, meticulous maintenance records and more. I bought it off Vroom, despite the negative press and reviews online, I had a very positive experience from beginning the purchase to delivery. Mechanic checked it out, did an oil change, and didn’t find anything wrong with it. I’m very excited to not daily my Mazdaspeed, lol.

Finished the ceramic coating.

I haven’t even been driving my other rides since this purchase. I’ve owned some pretty fast cars, but there’s just no comparison here. The 22’ Model S is just ridiculous in torque. Almost dangerous-like.

I have had 3 Teslas in my past and absolutely loved all of them.

Since I converted to working from home about 3 years ago I was able to convert back to my favorite vehicles with great sound, power, and driving experience in my TRX and Scat Pack.
Being that EVs are taking over, it will be funny to see my vehicles become "classics" and Teslas and the like become the norm.

I will say though, if I had a commute again I'd add a Tesla back in a second but nothing beats the growl of a v8 or more. :)

Great looking ride.

Hoping to add a Tesla to the mix one day. For now, my Bolt will hold me over. Got it for a steal (18k off sticker) right when the scamdemic started but before car prices went thru the roof. Easily one of the funnest econobox cars I’ve owned, mostly due to the pure satisfaction of having instant torque but she also handles pretty good too 😁

Thanks!

The reality is, I’ve owned 10+ high-performance cars in almost every variant of naturally aspirated, turbocharged, supercharged. I already have a 700hp Camaro and a 650hp Cobra. So the V8 fix is there already for me, but those are mainly track cars. Where as the Model S bridges that gap where I can essentially drive this without maintenance, no fuel and still have a ‘need for speed’ fix whenever I want on demand. I don’t drive/own anything slow, but I’m not the ‘norm’ either.

And yup, I already owned a Charger Scat Pack. Great car with the ZF 8-speed, but definitely not nearly as fast as I would like, so that went bye-bye.:D

Gave the 🐍 some fresh 🛢

Anyone else a DIY’er? I find this kind of stuff satisfying as it allows me to get my hands dirty (my IT job doesn’t) while also making sure the work is being done right. I worry too much that a shop worker will either under or over tighten the drain plug and/or oil filter, use the incorrect amount of oil, or even worse, take it for a joy ride.
