BTW, the somewhat red cloud area on the left isn't random noise but "real" redness caused by the Sun.

Oddly, when I upload from my MacBook I'm getting the same 'too large' message. When uploading from my iPhone, I don't.

On Windows, I use a free app, FastStone Photo Resizer (https://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDownload.htm). I would think that similar apps are available for the Mac. Size limit here is 10MB.
