I cannot stand how Apple just crushes shadows and blows out the highlights. I only use the 48mp ProRAW format when I absolutely need the best quality but when shooting a quick shot I go with the standard.

Not a fan of the way Apple processes photos at all, my edited version in LR looks 10x better than the garbage that Apple spits out. Apple needs to get their heads out of their behinds and update SmartHDR, it’s falling so far behind the competition that it’s laughable how bad pictures come out now.

There are a lot of people complaining about this on the internet. I believe it's a bug. In fact, I hope it's really a bug and not the new "philosophy" of the company with its HDR. This type of image with excess contrast I have observed a lot in the 3x telephoto lens. There are times when the amount of contrast applied is ridiculous, something I don't remember to occur in the 13 Pro Max.
