I'm not a photographer so forgive my lay terminology but what really strikes me is how "dull" for lack of a better word all these pictures appear.

None of them seem to have vivid bright colors. Almost like they've all been taken on a drizzly cloudy day or something when you would expect to see some more "pop" in these pictures, especially the ones that obviously have very colorful bright subjects. It's almost like they all have some sort of drab "tint" to the photos.

it has to do with the exposure settings etc, but to be honest the camera isnt too bad for what its worth, just being a camera 1:1 no oversaturation etc (hopefully). It depends on what amount of light you're letting in and what you decide to focus in on.

Are you guys uploading the pics directly from your phone to this site? Or are you transferring them to your computer and then uploading them? For some reason I can't upload pics from iPhone to this site anymore. Use to work but not anymore

Uploaded from my phone, via safari. Seems iOS 8.0.2 fixed it :)

So, I thought I would get a picture of the sun rising today, but then rain FINALLY happened (California needs it) and clouds were in the way. I did take a picture of a pine leaf, and came out very detailed/sharp and the colors were accurate. I had the phone focus on the bottom right part of the picture, so that is the most detailed.
